Grooming
Your kitten wants three things from you: a lot of attention, regular and well-balanced meals (Whiskas® Kitten Pouches are perfect), and a little help with grooming.
Kittens lick their coats to clear away loose hairs, but, as a result, fur balls can form in the stomach and intestines, causing upsets or constipation (which aren't fun for either of you). That’s why you should start brushing her coat carefully and regularly even when she’s very young. If she’s a short haired kitten, brush her once a week. If she’s long haired you’ll need to do it every day, because her hair can get easily matted.
Grooming your kitten encourages growth and shiny, healthy fur, keeping her looking sleek and healthy (the way she likes it!). If the two of you get into a grooming regime early on it'll become a normal part of life, and she’ll soon love lying there and being pampered. It’s also a great way to build a wonderful relationship.
Make sure you inspect her coat regularly, keeping a look out for fleas, ticks, red spots and missing tufts of hair. If you think there’s a problem, whatever it is, don’t hesitate to take her to the vet.
